Deborah, Utter A Song

Jdg 5:12 Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song:


Deborah must awake to the song of Yahweh it must resonate in her spirit in the wake of where the Lord has given her a revelation into the new day for the nation. The song can be likened to the priest’s ephod. When David was at Nob he found the Sword with which he killed Goliath behind the ephod (2 Samuel 6:14). The ephod being connected to the breast piece with the gemstones have the inscriptions of the names of the Sons of Israel inscribed upon them. The song releases her to the revelatory dimensions of His Spirit where each gemstone represents a dimension of the glory of God. This is the awakening of His song for deliverance and breakthrough, Deborah utters it into the battle.


Jdg 5:12 ... arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam.

The name Barak means ‘flashing Sword’. The Lord placed cherubim with flashing Swords to the guard the way in the garden of Eden. Eden is the place of knowing Yahweh, the place of where we have reconciled to know His character from out of His Word. The flashing Sword of the cherubim guarded the treasury within the garden, it was the place of an intimate understanding. Barak was one who would release the flashing Sword in the nation. This is the Word that was going to uproot the false understandings. New inroads in the knowledge of the Spirit would be made to the eventual down fall of Sisera. Sisera means intelligence. This is an intelligence that devises evil and takes counsel outside of the Spirit of God. This is where the nation has to come into the life that Adam knew in the garden under the shelter and canopy of His wings. The heart of the nation was to be occupied by the Holy Spirit of God, out from which the blessing of Yahweh would flow into the inroads of the nation’s soul.

The breast plate speaks of the Lord’s priestly order and holiness. The sons of Israel had a portion to know of God in the dimensions of His power. Their names were inscribed upon each stone speaking of the Lord’s portion as their inheritance.

This was a time to arise and occupy that one would come to their place in the rule and dominion of God. One would have dominion over the mighty.

Jdg 5:13 Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty.


The Sons of Israel.


Jdg 5:14 Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; 

Amalek battled against Israel.  The authority carried in the Name of the Lord breaks Amalek's hold, Moses held up the rod representing the authority of the Lord and Amalek was defeated (Exo 17:11).  Ephraim here is bountiful in fruitfulness his name meaning 'double fruit' here he has apportioned back to bless the Name of Yahweh who grafts a people into His law of life. Ephraim had contended to seal the life seed in the Word into the harvest field, there is rejuvenating power in his harvest and multiplication. Those who were remaining in Christ's ascension had the rebuke over Amalek.

after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors,

Benjamin means ‘son of my right hand’.

‘Out of Machir’ means ‘to sell’ This is speaking of anointed merchants; they are wise with the evangel they release the harvests within the work of a merchant. They govern out of where the Son releases a blessing from the right hand of God, There is an administration to break through with the Word in the places of where they have opportunity and favor. God opens doors in the heavenly realms as they release in the natural. They are spiritual harvesters who rejoice in the manifestation of heaven’s divine purposes being brought to the earth.

and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer.

Zebulun means ‘habitation.’ Zebulun opens the Word and he seals with the pen of what God is inscribing. They scribe with authority, they write the Word, scribing the revelation of what Jesus is pronouncing to His people. There is an honor in where the scribe prophesies in God’s habitation under the canopy of His glory.

Jdg 5:15 And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley.

Issachar means ‘He will bring a reward.’

The princes of Issachar were with Deborah; her name speaks of an administration anointing. Deborah means bee; bees are systematic in the harvesting of the nectar, and so Deborah is one who administrates in the blessing. Issachar alongside Deborah honors the working in the power of the Spirit, in the place of the Lord’s rulership. Even so, Issachar is rewarded with the appointment in the blessing, to wake the nation and usher the Word that is about to be delivered for Israel’s blessing and restoration. Issachar also comes beside Barak his name as seen before means ‘flashing Sword.’ Barak confronts with the Word, he is in the fight for the Word to have its full honor and the Lord’s resolution is praised. The fragmented heart of Israel was meant to be healed with the Sword. We see that they went to war toward mount Tabor. Tabor means ‘fragmented’, this mountain speaks of a fragmented soul.

Issachar has the Word to release the resurrection hope. Along with Barak he entered the valley, the valley speaks of an unsound doctrine, Barak ‘the flashing Sword’ is correcting it.

For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart.

Jdg 5:16 Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart. 

We spoke of a fragmented heart within the nation, Reuben speaks of the work of the church. More so, it speaks of those in the body, elders and leadership that are meant to have a foresight. Reuben means ‘to see’, what do they see? They dwell among the flock as shepherds hearing the sound of mourning among the sheep. There is a root of unbelief in the door of the heart of a people who do not see. It says that there was division with the sound of bleating in their harvest. Here there was disunity to the true apostolic season - false foundations had to be rooted out and one would now be brought back up and resuscitated to life in His resurrection - that life now filled with the sound of faith and joy.  The life of the Spirit and torch of His light reaches into the deep vale of their hearts - here it says there were great searchings of heart - here the cross and love for the Lord have become again the pivotal point. The Shepherds have understood the way of the Lord in this time.


Jdg 5:17 Gilead abode beyond Jordan:


Gilead speaks of them who have divided the Word of truth and are ascended in Jesus, beyond the Jordan speaks of the ascension. They opened the Seed of His Word and they crossed over upon the Sword the Lord revealed. This is where one has a crystal clear seeing; this is where one is secure and undoubting, where one has been opened into a new authority and is about to possess the promises.


and why did Dan remain in ships?


Dan remained in ships.

The ships speak of ministries in the harvest field.

Dan remains in the harvest field.

Dan means judge, Dan weighs out in the blessing, to release as the Lord has spoken and in so doing he remains God’s faithful steward. The Lord has governed in Dan, He steers in the Word across the seas. Dan has remained in the door to rule in the grain God measures in the harvest and to know Him in the oil of His anointing.


Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.


Asher, similarly to Dan continues on the sea shore that is to say the harvest field. The Word Shore means ‘covering.’ Asher continues in the covering. The Word opens up the Spirit’s renewal into the harvest and there one abides in the ‘haven,’ the shelter of the wings of the Most High.


Jdg 5:18 Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field.

 They jeoparded their lives unto the death. This was a wrestle. Naphtali means 'to wrestle'. Zebulun means 'habitation'. They wrestled that they should inhabit the unoccupied places, that God would have His full residence in the land, that God should have His foundation and Word honored and rejoiced over to the awakening of His Sonship in the nation.
